Here are the steps to updating the USB driver on Windows 10 and upgrading the Nokta Legend. The video on this can be found here 

Don’t forget to perform a factory reset on the Legend after applying the firmware update. Navigate to the Profile tab on the Legend menu, press and hold the Pinpoint & Accept/Reject Button until the letters Fd appear on the screen. Fd will disappear after 2 seconds.

  1. Download the latest VCP driver from [here](CP210x Universal Windows Driver).
  2. Extract both files to your Desktop.
  3. Turn off Windows real-time threat detection clicking on the Windows start menu and typing ‘Virus’ until you see ‘Virus & Threat Protection’ appear.
    • Click on it, then select ‘Manage Settings,’ and toggle the switch to the off position.
  4. Right-click on the Start menu and select ‘Device Manager.’
  5. Connect the Legend to the computer via USB.
    • It will appear in Device Manager under ‘Ports (COM & LPT).’
  6. Right-click on it and choose ‘Properties.’
  7. Click the ‘Driver’ tab.
  8. Select ‘Update Driver.’
  9. Choose ‘Browse my computer for drivers.’
  10. Select ‘Let me pick from a list..’
  11. Browse to the Driver Folder and choose the ‘silabser.inf.’
  12. Click ‘Next’ to install the driver to the USB port.
  13. Verify that the Driver date is 2023 in the Properties box.
  14. Disconnect the USB cable.
  15. Right-click the Legend Update Tool.
  16. Select ‘Run as Administrator.’
  17. Follow the on-screen instructions to upgrade the Legend Firmware – That’s it!
  • Just remember to re-enable real-time protection after the firmware upgrade.
