Here are the steps to updating the USB driver on Windows 10 and upgrading the Nokta Legend. The video on this can be found here
Don’t forget to perform a factory reset on the Legend after applying the firmware update. Navigate to the Profile tab on the Legend menu, press and hold the Pinpoint & Accept/Reject Button until the letters Fd appear on the screen. Fd will disappear after 2 seconds.
- Download the latest VCP driver from [here](CP210x Universal Windows Driver).
- Extract both files to your Desktop.
- Turn off Windows real-time threat detection clicking on the Windows start menu and typing ‘Virus’ until you see ‘Virus & Threat Protection’ appear.
- Click on it, then select ‘Manage Settings,’ and toggle the switch to the off position.
- Right-click on the Start menu and select ‘Device Manager.’
- Connect the Legend to the computer via USB.
- It will appear in Device Manager under ‘Ports (COM & LPT).’
- Right-click on it and choose ‘Properties.’
- Click the ‘Driver’ tab.
- Select ‘Update Driver.’
- Choose ‘Browse my computer for drivers.’
- Select ‘Let me pick from a list..’
- Browse to the Driver Folder and choose the ‘silabser.inf.’
- Click ‘Next’ to install the driver to the USB port.
- Verify that the Driver date is 2023 in the Properties box.
- Disconnect the USB cable.
- Right-click the Legend Update Tool.
- Select ‘Run as Administrator.’
- Follow the on-screen instructions to upgrade the Legend Firmware – That’s it!
- Just remember to re-enable real-time protection after the firmware upgrade.
